Minimal Parisian Style

Each piece in this mid-century modern Parisian inspired design has been carefully selected to coordinate with the entire space. In a minimal design how the pieces relate to each other is doubly important. Clean lines, minimal color, mixed metals and materials all play together to create a design that is pure art.

I chose a large curved sectional with very clean lines as the anchor piece in this design I placed a modern sculptural cocktail table in from of it and added interesting clean lined side tables and two minimal modern arm chairs. I intentionally used mixed metals to add interest and keep the metal finished from overpowering the space. Underneath I put a subtle patterned neutral area rug.

I selected a simple mid-century inspired buffet in walnut with a large abstract art piece over it to tie the spaces together. For the dining room, I selected a large round tulip style table with black base and a soap stone top and surrounded it with two different styles of chairs. Over the dining table I selected a simple three bulb chandelier that adds interest while being very light and minimal.

The whole space is unified by a large hanging mobile. This piece really sets the mood for the space and creates a gallery type feel. In order to emphasis the gallery feel I selected two different whites for the walls and trim, with just enough difference that your eye will catch it but not enough as to distract.

Your space can look like a gallery and still be livable.
